Editing or Post-Production is an essential component of modern visual art. It's been said a film is made 3 times - once on the page, once on the set, & once in the edit suite.

Currently, editing tends to be out of the spotlight, either because it's tedious (which it absolutely can be) or because creators are loathe to reveal the "magical" final step that makes RAW footage/photos "instagrammable".
